YO, Today the CPU fan didn't spin up on boot again ?! Just like yesterday ?! Wow, weird ! 1. Maybe asus bios issue ? 2. Maybe windows xp x64 pro issue ? 3. Maybe nvidia chipset issue ? 4. I'm wondering if a recordable optical drive is even worth messing with now days? Maybe just a reader drive only? Or is the price diff between the two so small as to be a no brainer for the burner? Or.... with huge thumb drives and USB drives..... is ANY optical drive worth messing with on a new build?... more »

Free MalwareByte I just downloaded found a dozen items on my PC, while resident Mcafee Securty Center didn't find any. Are these real threats? It looks to me some items are actually from Microsoft. So they should be safe.\line\line Thanks. [link]line\line d\f1\fs17

No, I cannot set up the router without installing the drivers. I suppose that they are needed as no other driver off the WinXP CD works. Two years ago, I remember that I had this problem. First question can a firewire 4 pin outlet or cord transfer data at 800 Mbps ever? I know it is also dependant on the external devise whether it can achieve 800 mbps rates but can 6 pin devices transfer at 800 Mbps? Or does the connection have to have a 9 pin at each end and a 9-pin cord for external hookup?... more »
